Discover how the Ocular Cut diamond retains and stores UV light through its patented membrane. After light exposure in the daytime, the luminescence reflects light back through the diamond to the eye. The Ocular cut facet design amplifies that stored light to the membrane behind the stone so it can produce its celebrated glow.
A diamond is composed of 5 distinct parts; table, crown, girdle, pavilion and culet.
Discover how they each play a role in creating its exclusive glow only seen in I’lluminess Gems.
The flat central top of the diamond (looking down at the mounted stone). It is the largest facet on a round or Ocular Brand diamond.
The upper portion of the diamond between the table & the girdle—this appears like a rounded ‘top’ to the diamond when viewed from the side.
The area between the crown and pavilion of a diamond when viewed from the side; it is often thicker in European cuts and OcularBrand diamonds as contrasted to the Modern Round Ideal Cut diamond. In the Ocular Brand diamond, the girdle is polished to a mirror-like finish surpassing that of a telescopic lens.
The underside cone-shaped portion of the diamond and the deepest part of the diamond in European cut and Ocular Brand diamonds.
The minute flat facet on the underside’s center of the diamond. In the Ocular Brand diamonds, the culet is referred to as the Reflective Eye and is the most distinctive way to quickly recognize an OcularBrand diamond at a glance.
We are happy to share this phenomenal fluorescence effect which has been patented and trademarked as the Ocular® Brand diamond. With our three provisional patents of this ground-breaking process, our four diamond cuts have been proven to glow up to 8 hours in the dark; displaying the elegant colors of Caribbean Blue and Sea Foam Green.
